Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint, formerly known as Mill Creek Falls Scenic Area, is a great area to explore on the way to or from Crater Lake. From the parking lot it is a short, 10-minute walk to the Mill Creek Waterfall, Barr Creek Waterfall, and the "Avenue of Giant Boulders." The woods surrounding the area are absolutely beautiful in the fall and spring, with bright green moss and ferns growing everywhere. The Avenue of Giant Boulders are impressive and a must-see if you decide to stop here. The boulders have been smoothed by years of water flow from the swift and cold water that has filled the narrow valley. The area is a short scenic stop and a beautiful walk around the three waterfalls.
This is a beautiful place that is trashed with garbage and graffiti. If you explore a bit you can find some quiet places that are untouched, but you've got to look for them.
