OVERVIEW
This 8.5-mile out-and-back hike from Dolomite Mine Road to Mine Peak is located near Anza Borrego Desert State Park and is easily accessible via Highway S2. DESCRIPTION
Start your hike on Dolomite Mine Road, a well-maintained dirt and gravel road that gradually ascends through rugged terrain. As you climb, enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and distant peaks. The trail features a mix of dirt and rocky surfaces, offering a steady but manageable climb.
As you approach the summit of Mine Peak, the trail becomes steeper and less maintained, with some minimal scrambling required to reach the rocky peak. From the summit, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the valley and nearby mountains, providing a perfect spot to take in the scenery.
After enjoying the views, retrace your steps down Dolomite Mine Road back to the trailhead.

FLORA AND FAUNA
