The Tahoe Meadows sledding hill sits just across the highway from the Mount Rose Resort, and with its wide, gradual slopes, it is the perfect sledding or snow tubing hill for families and children. Tahoe Meadows is a hub of winter recreational terrain for everything from snowmobiling to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, though the snowplay area is protected from any trails and is safe for children.

With a 30-foot drop in elevation spread over a 250-foot long slope, the sledding area has a moderate grade that limits downhill speed, so it can be used by people of nearly all ability levels. The area's proximity to the Reno area along with Nevada's lack of user fees (in contrast to nearby California's sno-park fee system) can lead to some extremely crowded days, especially on weekends or when the snow is fresh. The area is large enough to accommodate the crowds, however.

Parking is free along both sides of the highway at the bottom of the hill. Just be conscious of the busy highway traffic along this road. Also, there are no restrooms or facilities at this sledding area.
