Alturas Lake Picnic + Day Use Area

Adjacent to the Tent-Only camping area is the Alturas Lake Picnic and Day Use Area on the shores of Alturas Lake. The picnic site can be reserved online June through September and can accommodate 50 people. There are vault toilets, potable water and garbage services available. 

Though the picnic area is beautiful, there isn't much of a beach. If you're looking for beach access, try the day use area at the Inlet Campground on the opposite side of the lake. If you'd like to launch a boat, head to the boat launch at Smokey Bear Campground about quarter of a mile away.

Please note you're in bear country, and it's important to remove all your food waste to avoid attracting animals to the area.
