Promontory Park

Promontory Park is really a collection of facilities owned and maintained by PG&E and situated on the southeastern end of North Fork Reservoir.  Most obviously the park is home to the reservoir’s marina, and as such it is home to a wide boat ramp, ample trailer turn-around space, and a small store. 

The park isn’t just for boat owners, however; several smaller day use areas are free to use and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Just south of the marina the park offers a larger day use facility available by reservation but open to visitors if it isn’t reserved ($31).  For reservations call 541.630.7229.  Here you will get running water, barbeques and electric ranges, a playground, and plenty of space for groups up to 75 people.  Water access is via the nearby trail or back at the marina, unfortunately.  Young children are encouraged to cast their lines in Small Fry Lake, located between the day use area and the marina. 

Continue further down the road for Promontory Park Campground, which also has direct access to the lake for its overnight guests.
