Deep Creek Loop is located just outside of the charming town of Bryson City, North Carolina, in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The area includes three beautiful waterfalls and easy access to tubing. Hiking trails offer an easy hike along wide, old roads in most places, and benches along the way. Deep Creek is perfect for families, an easy stroll along the creeks, a morning run, fishing, tubing with friends, or just a dip in the stream in front of Tom Branch Falls. Deep Creek Campground is located just before the parking area for the trailhead, making Deep Creek Loop the perfect adventure to combine with a weekend of camping.

In the spring and summer you'll notice numerous types of wildflowers as you hike along the trails of Deep Creek. Rhododendrons and mountain laurel line the trails and streams, while hundreds of butterflies add some mountain magic to the day. Anglers are often seen knee-deep in the waters of Deep Creek. Juney-Whank Falls is also located on the loop; its name translates into "the bear went that a-way" in Cherokee. Take heed—keep an eye out for Smoky Mountain black bears while you're exploring or floating down the lazy river.

Deep Creek is packed with history as well. The former home of author Horace Kephart is nearby one of the first trails constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, which leads to the mouth of Deep Creek, the site of a historical Civil War battle.
