The drive-in campground at Big Stone Lake State Park is located next to Big Stone Lake in the Meadowbrook Area of the Park. There are two sections at Big Stone Lake State Park; the Meadowbrook Area being the southern section closest to Ortonville, Minnesota.
The campground at Big Stone Lake State Park has a total of 37 sites There are 10 sites that have electric hookups with 30-amp service. Thirteen of the sites are lakeside. Most of the sites have shade or partial shade. Most sites are close to each other so there is limited privacy. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. Firewood is available for sale at the park office. All the sites are back-in with the largest length being 48 feet. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the campground, except in the restroom.
This campground is a great place to camp for those that want to enjoy Big Stone Lake; there is a beach and boat launch near the campground. Big Stone Lake is a popular fishing lake. Campers who wish to hike can access the Bluebird Trail from the campground.
The campground has a bathroom and shower building as well as two vault toilets. There is a dump station near the campground. The campground is open year-round, but fresh water and the bathroom and shower building are only open during the warmer months. Also note that the campground road is not plowed during the winter
In addition to the camping fees, there is a fee to enter the park; a day use or annual permit can be purchased at the park office. All the sites can be reserved online or by phone.
