Mount Muscoco is a peak located in North Cheyenne Cañon Park near Colorado Springs. A common way to ascend Mount Muscoco is via the Mount Cutler Hiking Trail. This out and back hike is 3.7 miles long and gains 1,700 feet of elevation.

This hike starts from the Mount Cutler and Muscoco Trailhead off of N Cheyenne Canon Rd. There is a small parking area here. Begin hiking east on Mount Cutler Hiking Trail. You will be hiking uphill immediately. After 0.1 miles, you will cross a bridge and continue uphill on Mount Cutler Hiking Trail. You will enjoy views of the rocky cliffs of North Cheyenne Cañon. As you continue uphill, you will have a great view of the city of Colorado Springs.

After 0.5 more miles, you will come to a junction. Go right here to take the Mount Muscoco Hiking Trail. The trail continues to be uphill as you switchback up the side of the mountain. After 0.6 miles, the trail will become even steeper. Hike for another 0.4 mile to reach a junction. Go left to head towards the summit. After 0.2 more miles uphill, you will have made it to the top of Mount Muscoco. From the summit, you will have great views of Colorado Springs, North Cheyenne Cañon, and the foothills. Once you have taken ample time to rest and enjoy the views, turn around and retrace your steps to return to the trailhead.

North Cheyenne Cañon Park is open 5am-9pm from November through April. It is open from 5am-10pm from May through October. Dogs are allowed on this trail, but they must be on a leash. The hike to Mount Muscoco can be a bit strenuous, but it is very rewarding once you have reached the summit.
