San Juan Meadow Group Campground is one of several campgrounds within Caspers Wilderness Park, and the largest one geared toward groups of people camping together.
Set on low lying level ground of the park, San Juan Meadow Group Campground contains four distinct group camp areas along the gravel loop road. Each site has varying amenities, ranging from several picnic benches and fire rings to covered picnic areas. There is one central bathroom building, along with a playground area near the campground's entrance.
Access to the Juaneno Trail is at the far eastern end of the campground, and a couple unsigned dirt foot paths on the west end of the campground connect up to the park visitor center.
Sites are spacious and each except for D contain a good amount of shade. Site D has a shade structure covering the picnic benches and spacious grass area for setting up tents. Parking areas are sufficiently large enough for mid sized RVs, however there are no electrical or water hook ups in the campground.
Group rates vary by camp site size, but start at $240 per night. When not reserved by campers, the group areas can be reserved for day use.
As of 2022, water was not available anywhere in the park due to damaged well issues, visitors and campers should plan on bringing all of their own water. Visitors can view the OC Parks website for the most current information.
