Mill Creek Campground

At 6200' in elevation, Mill Creek Campground along the western portion of the Sonora Pass Highway in the Stanislaus National Forest offers a spacious setting with 17 sites along a peaceful flat just above Mill Creek.

With a view of the nearby boulders peeking through the surrounding conifer trees, Mill Creek's 17 sites are spread out amongst two areas. One primary area has 12 sites, including an onsite camp host, in an area exposed to sunlight. Basic sites each have a picnic bench and fire ring. There is no water available at Mill Creek.

The sites sit on either side of a graded gravel road that is generally passable by all vehicle types. Sites have a small parking area and a flat for pitching a tent. A single vault toilet servest the campground. 

Operated by the US Forest Service, campers are asked to pay at the entrance station.

Prior to reaching the main camping area, several smaller sites can be seen to the left of the road when driving in. This is where sites 14-19 are located, and the landscape here tends to be a little more clustered within the trees and around the granite boulders. Site 15 is the largest, a double camp site with parking for two vehicles. Campers staying at sites 14-19 are asked to pay at the main camp area a little further down the road.

Mill Creek Campground tends to close seasonally when winter conditions shut down Highway 108. General open season for the campground is from May through October annually.
