Along this trek, you will encounter lush meadows, alpine lakes, scenic ridgelines, and colorful wildflowers. The route begins at the High Meadows Trailhead in South Lake Tahoe, approximately one hour from Reno and approximately two hours from Sacramento, making it easily accessible for locals and residents of nearby cities.
