Blue Canyon Trail 26W12 is a 10.4-mile out-and-back trail that runs the length of Blue Canyon. This trail runs along the Santa Ynez Fault in Los Padres National Forest. In Blue Canyon, you will find colorful geology along with unique rock outcroppings. There are flowing streams, open valleys, peaceful meadows, and backcountry/primitive campsites. The terrain is relatively flat with an overall elevation gain of about 952 feet. Blue Canyon Trail 26W12 is open to runners, hikers, and backpackers.

In addition to exploring Blue Canyon, the trail provides access to other forest areas, including P-Bar Flats Campground, Middle Santa Ynez Camp, Cold Springs Trail, Mono Trail, and Forbush Flats Trail.

The trailhead is located near Blue Canyon Pass along East Camino / Forest Rd 5N12.3.

Wilderness / overnight permits are not required within Los Padres National Forest. Trail use and backcountry campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis.
