Standard Wash is a busy dispersed camping area in the Lake Havasu area with spacious primitive camping options and access to the area's backcountry OHV trails.
Standard Wash is one of the established BLM dispersed camping areas around Lake Havasu. As such, there are no fees for camping. Aside from a single sign, there are no bathrooms or amenities of any kind located in the camping area. The wash lies immediately off of AZ 95 about 9 miles south of Lake Havasu City. The area is maintained as an a major access point to the Lake Havasu Travel Management Trail System, and OHV riding is definitely the most popular activity in the area.
However Standard Wash is also within close vicinity to the vast hiking options at SARA Mountain Park, and popular climbing areas such as nearby Crab Claw Rock. The camp area is spread out across hardpacked dirt bluffs, with areas large enough to support groups of RVs as well as plenty of space for vehicles to find their own private (though likely not quiet) area.
Like many of the dispersed camping areas around Lake Havasu, Standard Wash tends to be a popular snowbird area and OHV unloading point, so the campground can often be packed during peak winter and summer periods and especially during summer weekends and holidays.
The camping area can normally be accessed by high clearance 2WD vehicles. Standard Wash has no fees and no amenities, and is subject to BLM dispersed camping regulations such as a 14 consecutive day limit. There is no shade or protection from the elements at the camping area.
