Nestled in an old-growth stand at the base of Tam McArthur Rim are two yurts and a wood-fired sauna operated by Three Sisters Backcountry. It's a 6-mile snowmobile shuttle into the yurts, so bring your own snowmobile or arrange a pick-up through Three Sisters Backcountry for $40 round trip.

At the yurts you'll find a propane-fired kitchen, a wood stove, a dining table, and bunks to house six. The snowmobile shuttle allows you to bring a cooler or two of food and drinks for your stay. No need for those terrible freeze-dried meals while you're here.

The two yurts allow for easy access to Tam McArthur Rim, the area has everything from sheltered tree skiing to big, wide open bowls. If you're new to the area, spend the money on a guide. They'll show you the best spots on the rim and get you there on the easiest skin track.
