The 2 mile loop around Three Creek Lake offers an enjoyable and easy hike for anyone wanting to explore the lake. It is perfect for anyone camping at Three Creek Lake Campground or Driftwood Campground, as it is easily accessed from both campgrounds. It is also perfect for anglers looking to fish their way around the lake.
The trail begins from Three Creek Lake Campground on the south end of the lake. You’ll walk behind campsite #9 and cross a small stream. You’ll then see a sign for Driftwood Campground. This is the start of the trail.
The trail climbs gradually through forested terrain, crosses a couple more small streams, then tops out at a high point where you’ll have a view out across the lake.
A very gradual descent awaits until you are again at lake level.
The trail then arrives at Driftwood Campground on the northwest side of the lake. From here you can either hop on the gravel road through the campground, or remain on a singletrack trail that stays above the lake and below the campsites.
Either way, you’ll continue around to the north end of the lake where you’ll need to join the gravel road eventually.
The loop then heads south back to Three Creek Lake Campground and where you first began.
Along the way you’ll pass a small store and marina, where some camping and fishing supplies are available. It is possible to leave the gravel road at this point to walk alongside the shore of the lake for the remainder of the hike.
