Sunset Campground is a sizable campground located on the eastern shore of Lake of the Woods. There are many opportunities for recreation here on this large lake including fishing, swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. Fantastic hiking is also found nearby including the Pacific Crest Trail, Sky Lakes Wilderness Area and 9,498 ft Mount McLoughlin. Lake of the Woods Resort is also nearby and offers lodging, hot meals and more.
There are 64 campsites at Sunset Campground. All sites can accommodate any type of camper including those with tents, vans, trailers or RVs. Accessible campsites are also available.
Within the campground you’ll find restrooms with flushing toilets and drinking water. Each campsite also has a picnic table and fire pit. The campground also has a great day use area alongside the lake. Picnic tables, a swimming beach and hiking are found here along with a boat ramp. Great views of Mt. McLoughlin can be seen from here.
Reservations at Sunset Campground can be made by visiting recreation.gov. The campground is open seasonally, usually May through September.
