Located in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area just south of Florance, this small lakeside campground is perfect for a water lover. Set on a lake, many of the campsites have water access and the rest are just a short distance from the lake's edge. Swimming, fishing and boating (non-motorized) are all options on this small lake. The area is also great for bird watching.
Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. A few campsites are pull through, but most are small and can only accommodate a car or a very short trailer. The campground has flush toilets and potable water.
The sandy beaches of the Oregon Coast are just over a mile away through beautiful shore pines, marshy areas, and dunes. You have a choice of two trails to make your way to the beach: Carter Dunes Trail starts from the campground, and Taylor Dunes Trail starts from the day use area. While you're on the beach, keep an eye out for snowy plovers, harbor seals, and other wildlife.
Restrictions are in place seasonally for snowy plover habitat. Look for posted signs and barriers on the beach.
