Manhattan Beach, located in the suburbs of Los Angeles, is a great place to soak up the sun and enjoy the ocean breeze. With just over 2 miles of sandy beach, there's room to swim, run, surf, play beach volleyball or just relax in the sunshine. There are separate running and biking paths along the length of the beach. Lifeguards are stationed on the beach during daylight hours.

Manhattan Beach Pier is a popular spot for fishing and viewing the sites. It is the oldest standing concrete pier on the West Coast and was declared a state historical landmark in 1995. At the end of the 928-foot pier is a small octagonal building that is home to the Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium. It is open to the public seven days a week and is free with suggested donations. Learn about the life below the pier and how unique the Southern California marine environment can be.
