Francis Beach Campground lies adjacent to the popular and centrally located Francis Beach within Half Moon Bay State Park.
The campground lies just north of the Francis Beach day use area, with its 52 camp sites lying along one large loop road. All sites are atop a bluff and separated from the beach, however the sound of waves drift across the whole of the campground.
Most of the sites can accommodate trailers or RVs up to 40 feet in length and over half of the sites include electrical hook ups, however no water or sewer hook ups are available. A few of the spots have shade, while most are set inside the shadeless loop road.
A hiker biker site is available on a first come, first serve basis with a 1 night stay limit.
Two group sites occupy an ideal spot on the bluffs directly overlooking the sandy beach. Though the group sites also see a lot of foot traffic as they lay between the campground and the State Beach day use area.
The campground is served by a couple bathroom buildings with flush toilets and coin-op showers.
Ranger-led interpretive programs and activities are offered in the campground between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Dogs are permitted on leash in the campground area, however are not permitted on the beach.
An RV dump station is available at the campground entrance/exit for an additional fee.
