Runway Sledding Hill in Breckenridge is a great option for kids and families looking for a free spot to sled or tube. Along with Carter Park Hill, Runway Hill is one of the most popular spots in town. It is conveniently located next to the large (free) Breckenridge Airport Skier Parking Lot, between Highway 9 and Airport Road.

From the parking area it is a short walk to the manmade sledding hill. The hill is regularly groomed and is an excellent spot to sled. Although not super steep, the hill has enough grade to pick up a bit of speed, and there is a long runout without risk of hitting anything. There is also a designated walkway to the top of the hill which is nice.

It’s recommended that you bring your own sled, but there is also a “sled shed” with free loaner sleds if you need.
