Palmer Point Trail

Palmer Point Trail is an easy hike located at Palmer Park near Colorado Springs, Colorado. This trail explores the northwest perimeter of Palmer Park. This out and back hike is 3.2 miles long and gains 246 feet of elevation.

This hike starts from the North Canyon Trailhead. There are restrooms available at the trailhead. Begin hiking west on Palmer Point Trail. After 0.1 miles, the trail turns to the right towards Mark Reyner Stables. After another 0.1 miles, turn left to continue on Palmer Point Trail. On this portion of trail, you will enjoy views of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. You will also be able to see rocky cliffs near the trail. 0.4 miles down the trail, you will encounter a junction. Stay right here. Go right again at the next junction in 0.1 miles.

Continue on Palmer Point Trail as you hike amongst coniferous trees and rocky cliffs. You will come to 4 junctions over the next 0.5 miles. Be sure to stay on Palmer Point Trail. You will also pass by a residential neighborhood. You will now hike uphill into the woods for 0.2 miles. This is followed by 0.2 miles of downhill hiking. This will bring you to a junction with a paved trail. There will also be a Palmer Park trail system map located here. This signifies the end of the Palmer Point Trail. Turn around and retrace your steps to return to the trailhead.

Palmer Park is open 5am-9pm year round. There are no associated fees to hike here. Dogs are allowed on this trail as long as they are on a leash. This trail may also be used by bikers and horseback riders. Palmer Park is a low commitment way to explore Palmer Park.
