Thimble Peak Vista is a scenic overlook on the 27-mile-long Mount Lemmon Scenic Byway (also known as the is Catalina Highway). This road is considered is one of the most scenic drives in southeast Arizona and is located northeast of Tucson. This 27-mile road provides access to Mount Lemmon and the scenic Santa Catalina Mountains.

Thimble Peak Vista is located between mile markers 8 and 9. This overlook provides unobstructed views of Thimble Peak, Bear Canyon, and Sabino Canyon. The 5031-foot-tall mountain gets is name because the top of the peak resembles a giant sewing thimble. There are no amenities at this vista. There is an informational sign at the overlook that explains the geologic history of the Santa Catalina Mountains. This is a good spot to watch the sunset; even in the winter since there is rarely snow at this vista’s altitude.
