Racehorse Falls is a beautiful collection of four waterfalls where Racehorse Creek carves out a narrow canyon on its final approach to the Nooksack Valley.

Starting from the upper pullout on North Fork Road, approach the falls by strolling along a well-defined trail through a pocket of preserved forest. After 600 yards you will reach a small clearing with a series of paths veering up and down the hillside. If you wander up the slope along the more primitive paths, you can gain glimpses of the upper falls. The slightly more defined - and steeper - path downhill offers the chance to peer over the middle falls, then descend to the lower waterfall and get an up-close view. In summer the pool below the lower waterfall is a popular swimming spot.

The picturesque waterfall setting is complimented beautifully by the surrounding forest. Mosses cover everything from the rocks in and around the creek to the trees and vines that cling to the sharply-rising hillsides. The combination of steep drop-offs and dampness under foot also pose a risk at the middle and upper falls. Bring good footwear and good judgment.
