Owned and operated by Sun Mountain Lodge, the Patterson Lake Cabins are tucked away under a grove of black cottonwoods on the northern shore of 120-acre Patterson Lake in the heart of Washington's Methow Valley. There are 16 cabins total, and each has the rustic charm you'd expect of a wilderness retreat but also provides the luxurious amenities of a top-tier resort lodge, including daily housekeeping, air conditioning, full kitchens with microwaves, dishwashers and coffee makers, gas fireplaces, and large front porches overlooking the lake. In addition to what's available at the cabins, guests have full access to all the amenities and activities at Sun Mountain Lodge located 1.2 miles further uphill.
A spacious common lawn area complete with a children’s play area and barbecue facilities are available for your enjoyment. Lakefront activities include rental rowboats, canoes, paddleboats, kayaks and sailboats. Other activities include fishing, swimming, volleyball, horseshoes, badminton, hiking, and mountain biking. In the winter, the groomed Nordic ski trails are accessible right from your door.
One-Bedroom Cabins
There are a total of 10 of these cozy, one-bedroom cabins. Each has a full kitchen, a gas fireplace or gas stove, a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a living area with queen wall bed, and a full bath. These cabins are ideal for couples with small children.
Loft Suites
Each of the four Loft Suites have two bedrooms, 1 3/4 baths, a full kitchen, a dining and living area, a gas burning stove, plus a lovely verandah. There is a bedroom with a queen bed and bath upstairs, another bedroom with another bath downstairs, and a twin day bed in the living area. These suites sleep up to six people.
Grande Suites
Two Grande Suites sleep up to 11 with similar layouts to the loft suites plus expanded living areas that are ideal for family and social gatherings.
Cowboy Breakfasts + Dinners
Offered mid-May through mid-October, the Cowboy Breakfast or Cowboy Dinner is the best and most rustic way to experience the grandeur of the Methow Valley and its historic cultural roots. Here you can take a scenic 1 1/2-hour horseback ride or ride in a horse-drawn wagon to the old Hough Homestead for a memorable western barbecue dinner or Cowboy Breakfast. To whet the appetite, the dinner menu includes: coal smoked steak with gaucho oil, firepit chicken with barbecue moppin’ sauce, brown beans, smashed potatoes, farm table greens, cast iron cornbread, vegetarian grilled mushrooms, Dutch oven cobbler or scrap cake; beverages include coffee, lemonade, or water. Vegan and gluten free options are also available.
Note: Pricing listed is for the one-bedroom cabins, and the amenities listed below are specifically for the Patterson Grande Suite. Pricing and amenities for each cabin vary slightly. Due to the small inventory and various types of cabins, the Patterson Lake cabins are not available for online booking.
