Situated within little Pacific Beach State Park, this year-round campground is ideally perched above the calm waters of Joe Creek and Pacific Beach.
Pacific Beach State Park Campground offers 22 car/tent sites, 44 RV sites (with electrical hook-up only), and two 16-foot diameter yurts that each feature a bunk bed, a full-size futon, a small table, a small cadet heater, electrical outlets and lighting, and can comfortably sleep five people. With almost no vegetation, all the campsites get plenty of exposure to the much needed sun; however, there is also little protection from the wind and zero privacy between campsites.
Note: Campfires are not permitted at any of the campsites, but they are allowed on the beach at a minimum of 100 feet from the dunes.
This campsite was extremely open and windy, with unreliable weather, but had amazing views of the ocean and the people were extremely friendly. Currently the shower token machine isn't working, so showers are free.
