North Beach, Deception Pass State Park

North Beach at Deception Pass State Park is arguably most well known for its iconic view of Deception Pass Bridge that links Fidalgo and Whidbey Islands. There are two main points of access for the mile-long North Beach. The first is a parking area just to the south of the pass – it's accessed by heading north from the main park welcome station. The other option is the parking at West Beach, from which a trail leads northward to the North Beach. At the former access point there is a small network of trails that lead around Gun Point and to the beach. Take care, as some of the trails are not official and will lead to dead-ends and, more dangerously, steep drop-offs. A few picnic shelters are located in the forest just off the edge of the beach. Two of the three can be reserved via the Washington State Park reservation system. Salmon fishing is renowned here, and fishermen can line the entire mile-long beach in peak seasons.
