Mazama Ridge Snowshoe Trail is a moderate loop in Paradise area of Mount Rainier National Park. The trail offers stunning views from the ridge including Mount Rainier, the Tatoosh range, and many alpine meadows. There are many ways to get to Mazama Ridge and many ways to come back, meaning as long as you have a good navigation system and are prepared, this trail can be a sort of choose-your-own-adventure type of hike. To avoid avalanches, the safest way to go is to start at the Paradise Inn parking lot and follow the Paradise Valley Road down to the fourth crossing trailhead. Check in at the ranger station before you go to grab a map and get more up to date information. The first mile is steep, but the route evens out once you get to the ridge, where the vistas will blow you away. Follow the tracks south and continue toward Reflection Lakes and the lodge.
