Lottie Bay

Although only narrowly separated from Bowman Bay by a sandy spit of land, Lottie Bay has a character all its own. The waters don't directly open into Rosario Straight, as do Bowman's, and the bay is protected by Lighthouse Point, so the waters are calmer. Seals are known to spend some time in the bay, and the many driftwood logs make great perches from which to observe them. The mellow waters are great for wading or swimming, just be aware that you may be sharing the space with the aforementioned marine life. Indeed, Lottie Bay feels like the quieter little sister of Bowman Bay.

Lottie Bay shares some history with Bowman Bay; until the late 19th century it was the site of a Samish village. Instead of Bowman's open fields, though, Lottie Bay is surrounded by forest. Trails to and around Lottie Bay lead to nearby Rosario Beach, Lottie Point, and Lighthouse Point.
