Located on the edge of the Wenatchee National Forest, the town of Leavenworth, Washington, offers a wide variety of activities for the more than 1 million tourists who travel here each year. For those who are looking for a relaxing trip, the town (which is modeled on a Bavarian village) offers a host of fun shops and excellent eats. If you need a little more adventure, there is no lack of hiking, mountain biking, rafting, climbing, golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and much more!
While you can find a variety of vacation rentals, hotels, and primitive campsites, the Leavenworth Pine Village KOA offers a great option for those traveling by RV or looking for more developed tent sites with bathrooms, hot showers, and activities for the kids.
During the summer, you’ll find the sites to be busy and crowded. However, there are a variety of amenities including a seasonal shuttle that runs into town, an espresso and smoothie bar, heated pool, adults-only sauna, playground, bike rentals, evening movie showings, weekend breakfasts (for a small fee), and free Wi-Fi. The KOA is located within walking distance of a grocery store and is about a five-minute drive into town.
There are lots of options for tent camping, full hookup RV sites, and a variety of large and small cabins. Additionally, there’s a large pavilion for family reunions or group cookouts that can also be reserved. If you’re staying on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Labor Day weekend, there is a three-night minimum. Additionally, all weekends in summer and early fall have a two-night minimum. When reserving you can request a specific site; however, site numbers are not guaranteed. Kids under 12 stay free!
