The Golf Course Trails are one of three cross-country trail networks maintained and groomed by the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club. The Icicle River Trails are located just a few miles further south down Icicle Road, while Ski Hill Trails are located just 5 miles north on the other side of Highway 2. A $16 pass grants access to all three courses, making Leavenworth a prime spot for an all-day cross-country skiing adventure.

The Golf Course Trails offer a little something for everyone. Because the trails are on an actual golf course, you begin by parking in front of the country club and proceed though the wide open views. Though you will see the rentable condos lining some stretches of the course, the views of the Wenatchee River the looming Cascade Peaks are non-stop. A green route is mostly level and includes several straightaways, while a blue route switchbacks uphill for a while before leading back to some tame downhill.

In addition to the skiing, Leavenworth has all the amenities of a mountain town. You'll find good restaurants, a local brewery, and that friendly mountain vibe that is worth traveling for. Nestled into the outer reaches of the Cascade Mountains, Leavenworth is a revamped logging town that now resembles a modern Bavarian Village, complete with ornamental architecture and annual Oktoberfest celebrations.
