This campground is close to the highway, has virtually no amenities and doesn’t allow campfires. There are only eight or nine campsites, so the campground is modest and simple. Why visit? Because you love rambling rivers, fishing, dry desert air and big blue skies! Camping in the middle of the lower Klickitat Gorge is beautiful, and the swift river's proximity keeps the campground charming.
A lot of fisherman use this spot during the salmon runs and post up for extended periods of time to use as a base camp as they float down the river. Watch out for poison oak when getting off trail. Lock your vehicle.
Great location for a campground, with easy access to fun in the Gorge and on the Klickitat River. Bathroom has been updated since the picture was taken. Fires were allowed as of April 2017 (be sure to check before making one).
