Howard Miller Steelhead Park Campground

At the Skagit River's edge, Howard Miller Steelhead Park Campground awaits. This popular campground boasts river access and mountain views in Rockport, Washington.

Howard Miller was a lifelong Skagit County resident and lover of the great outdoors. A steelhead fishing guide who served 16 years as Skagit County Commissioner, Miller was responsible for the purchase of the park that would later be named after him. Interpretive signs in the park provide information on Howard Miller, as well as a historic ferry, cedar canoe, and cabin.

The campground contains 50 hookup sites with water and electricity, 10 walk-in tent sites, two adirondack shelters, and two cabins. A boat launch provides access to the river for fishing and rafting. Easy hiking trails wander west from the park; check out the Wetland Wildlife Trail for a chance to spot eagles soaring above. For a more challenging hike, head across the highway to summit 5,541-foot Sauk Mountain.
