The Cat Creek area is in a section of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest that caters to Off Road Vehicle recreation. This campground is made up of two sections that are across the road from one another and separated by a half mile. The upper portion, called Cat Creek Campsites, has a few large, primitive, open sites that don't offer much in the way of separation between sites or a visual barrier from the road. The lower section, the Cat Creek Campground, is on the side of the road shared with Cat Creek. This section has sites with more vegetation and a bit more privacy.
