Burrows Island is located just to the south of Fidalgo Head and the Anacortes Ferry, and it is easily accessed from Washington Park. The trip out is an exciting paddle through the narrow channels separating Burrows Island and Fidalgo Head and Allan Island (privately owned). The currents in these channels can be very strong, and they offer the paddler an opportunity to play in the eddies and tidal rips that often form throughout the route. On the western side of Burrows there is an abandoned lighthouse that can be explored either from the coast or from the trails that lead there from the Cascadia Marine Trail site located on the eastern shores of the island. You'll also have ample opportunity to explore the nearby tide pools.

Absolutely beautiful - especially in nice weather. Be prepared for rip tides like the description says. Also take lots of photos! The sun gives off tremendous colors during sunset.
