The White Pine Nordic Center is located in the heart of Park City, and it offers people of all skill levels an incredible amount of tracked terrain to explore. Starting off at Hotel Park City, the tracks extend out in multiple directions on what is normally the golf course, and it even makes its way as far as the McPolin Barn area. There are 20 kilometers of track here that are reserved for cross-country skiers, so keep in mind there is no walking or snowshoeing allowed. White Pine Touring operates the track and offers guides, lessons, tuning, and rental equipment for anyone interested. There is a small retail shop if you forgot anything, and there is a rental service for skate-skis or a traditional cross-country set-up. If you have all your equipment, simply purchase a pass to access the tracks.
The novice area is a short walk across Thaynes Canyon Road, and it is a 3 kilometer loop. The intermediate section can be accessed just outside the rental shop and is 5 kilometers long. McPolin Barn is accessed by the Farm Loop, which is 12 kilometers long, but the trek out there requires some serious endurance and skill. There are some solid climbs out that way.
The views are stellar, the setting is amazing, and the options are endless. Just like everything else in Park City it might cost a bit more than some other places, but you get it back in the quality of the overall experience. This place really is for everyone: You'll see first-timers and people that look like they are in training for a competition, but there is enough room for everyone.
