The Strawberry Ridge Loop is a 12 mile, lightly trafficked dirt road loop trail near Duck Creek Village, Utah within Dixie National Forest (Utah’s largest national forest). The loop features pine and spruce trees as well as beautiful aspen groves. Along the loop there are several scenic spur trails that offer an opportunity to extend the hike and explore some scenic vistas.
The Strawberry Ridge Loop is a solid loop for anyone looking to get in a good trail run or long day hike. The gentle rolling hills make it easily accessible to beginner hikers, but the length of the loop requires some endurance. The loop ends with a short but very steep climb.
Parking and backcountry camping are available along Strawberry Ridge Trail Road. This loop begins at a pull-off / camp-spot with space for several cars. There is no potable water along the loop, and the water that is flowing is unreliable for filtering, make sure to plan accordingly.
DIRECTIONS
Start - Strawberry Ridge Trail Road
Mile 4 - Turn right on Upper Canyon Road
Mile 5.9 - Turn right on Forest Road and continue straight to Swains Creek Trail
Mile 10.8 - Turn right on an unnamed dirt road trail and begin to climb
Mile 11.8 - Continue straight up the steep dirt trail until you reach Strawberry Ridge Trail Road.
Mile 12 - Finish at Strawberry Ridge Trail Road.
