Smith + Morehouse Reservoir

Smith and Morehouse Reservoir is located in a tight, picturesque valley near the top of Weber Canyon. Although it feels remote, you are not far from the town of Oakley, Utah, and Park City is a bit further. The drive up the canyon is really pretty, especially in autumn. There is a boat ramp, nearby camping, and fishing. It can get windy but is still a popular SUP destination. The lake is long and thin but large enough to handle a decent number of people in the water. It can get crowded on weekends, but mostly just for parking alongside the road. There is plenty of wildlife and wildflowers in summer. You can bring a motor boat in from the boat ramp, but travel over a wakeless speed is prohibited, which means no water skiing.

There are not any great shores; most of the terrain is mud, and there are some grass patches. A rocky section is located at the north end, and a bit of a flat grassy area is on the far side to the southeast. The lake is stocked with tiger and rainbow trout and arctic grayling. Smith and Morehouse Campground has 34 sites, and Ledgefork has another 73, which can cause decent crowds. The nearby 14-mile Smith and Morehouse Trail takes you east into the Uinta Mountains towards Island Lake.
