Memorial Hill is an easy hike located in Midway, Utah that offers fantastic 360 degree views from the summit, as well as a great memorial to those from this area who have served in the U.S. military.
The small but prominent hill is accessed by a well graded gravel road. During the summer months the road is open to vehicles, but one can still opt to walk to the top. During the winter the road is gated and you’ll have it to yourself with no worries of vehicle traffic.
The gravel road circles around the hill 3 times as it gradually climbs its way to the top. You’ll see shortcuts that lead directly up the hillside but please stay on the main road.
From the top of Memorial Hill you’ll have stunning views of Heber City, Deer Creek Reservoir, and the surrounding Wasatch Mountains including prominent Mount Timpanogos.
The memorial features plaques with the names of all those from Wasatch County that have served in the US armed forces, from the Revolutionary War to the present. Take some time to enjoy this memorial and please be respectful.
After visiting the memorial and enjoying the stellar views, return the way you came back down the gravel road to the parking area.
