Lariat Loop is just north of the Marina and Highland Picnic area, offering a convenient location in the middle of Rockport State Park. It is set on a nice beach for swimming and wading. Another advantage of this site is the especially large picnic shelter and two large grills. Like the other group sites, it also has one large fire pit, plenty of parking, water faucet, and pit toilets. Lariat has less open field space than the other group campgrounds, but tent campers can disperse among nearby trees for a little more privacy and shelter. This can be key on especially sunny or windy days.

Note: Lariat Loop Group Campground is open from May 1 through October 31.
