Integrated into the campground and day use area on the developed west side of the reservoir in Jordanelle State Park, the Jordanelle Swim Beach offers full amenities and a relaxing shore within an hour of Salt Lake City and Provo.
Adjacent to the Jordanelle State Park Campground, park headquarters, and the day use area, visitors to the Jordanelle Swim Beach have access to a full compliment of services and amenities. The Beach House offers food and drink within footsteps of the beach, and those who plan ahead can reserve one of the more than 35 covered picnic cabanas that line the shoreline and overlook the beach. In addition, the park offers two boat ramps in the immediate area: north of the beach is a wide boat ramp and marina for motorized watercraft, but personal, non-motorized watercraft have a dedicated ramp near the RV campground south of the day use cabanas.
Most of the beaches within the Wasatch Front are coarse and gravely, and Jordanelle Swim Beach is no exception, but this may be the only drawback to a comfortable outdoor experience on hot summer days. Dogs are prohibited on the beach, and the surrounding water is part of a wakeless speed zone that keeps watercraft at safe speeds and the waves low and safe for swimmers. In addition, the docks along the public beach area are ADA accessible.
For those seeking more than just a beach experience, there is plenty near Jordanelle Swim Beach to keep them busy. Boats and paddleboards are available for rent, and a sprawling campground offers RV and tent sites and two fully furnished cabins. Park headquarters also offer a geocache adventure, “A Journey Through the Solar System,” that is great for kids.
