Farview & Piracy Point

Farview Point is a spectacular viewpoint within Bryce Canyon National Park where one can see (you guessed it) quite far! The paved pathways around the viewpoint make it easily accessible for everyone, and there are even vault toilets located here. For those looking to explore a bit further, a short trail (.4 mile round trip) leads to Piracy Point where more incredible views are to be had.

Prominent landmarks visible from Farview Point include the Aquarius Plateau (Pink Cliffs), the Kaiparowits Plateau (Grey Cliffs) and Molly's Nipple (White Cliffs). Navajo Mountain (10,387’) can also be spotted some 90 miles away on the border of Arizona/Utah. On a clear day it may even be possible to see to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and the Kaibab Plateau.

The short and flat trail leading to Piracy Point is an easy and deserving hike. Note that pets are not allowed on this trail or any of the other natural surface trails in the park. From the viewpoint you may spot two large buttes that (supposedly) appear as “sailing ships engaged in a naval battle” therefore giving Piracy Point its name.

Note that the park road occasionally closes during snowstorms meaning that Farview/Piracy Point may be inaccessible at times during the winter.
