Crestwood Park is located in a nice urban neighborhood within Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The small 58 acre park offers a breath of fresh air and is quite nice. Little Cottonwood Creek flows through the park adding to the scenery.
The park itself offers a nice grassy area with numerous picnic tables, a playground and restrooms. There are also tennis courts, horseshoes and even an outdoor swimming pool that is open during summer months.
One of the main attractions at Crestwood Park is the walking paths. The main loop trail is just over a mile in length. You’ll cross over Little Cottonwood Creek via footbridge to the start of the loop. A hand painted sign informs you that there are many plants and animals in the park, and warns to watch out for cactus and animal droppings!
The gravel pathway is an easy hike for all, and perfect for families. It stays close to the creek for a while, then it opens up into a grassy field area. You’ll have decent views of the Wasatch Mountains from here.
The trail then winds back in the other direction before again following alongside Little Cottonwood Creek before reaching the point at which you started the loop. Cross the bridge again over the creek to head back to the main park area.
