Big Bend Campground

Big Bend Campground is the largest of the campgrounds along this stretch of the Colorado River, and is quite a popular spot. Located only 10 miles from downtown Moab, Big Bend sits right along the majestic banks of the Colorado, near the namesake “Big Bend” in the river. Directly across on the other side of the Colorado River rise the steep red cliffs of what is actually the outer edge of Arches National Park.

Twenty-two individual campsites are available here, most of which feature a stellar view of the river and surrounding cliffs. Sites are suitable for tents, trailers and large RVs. No hookups are available nor is there drinking water anywhere in the campground. The only amenities to be found are vault toilets and dumpsters. All sites are first come, first serve with no reservations possible. There are also five overflow sites available across the road.

Big Bend Campground also features a day use area with picnic tables located near the river. A sandy beach can be enjoyed, and a boat ramp is available for those looking to get out on the water.

Lastly, Big Bend does offer three group sites. These sites offer plenty of space to camp as well as a nice covered area with picnic tables. Unlike the individual sites, these group campsites can and should be reserved in advance. Click here for more information.
