Agua Canyon

Agua Canyon is located in Bryce Canyon National Park and is best enjoyed from the viewpoint near mile 13.5 of the park road. There are no trails that lead down to the canyon from here, but the spectacular view from above is well worth the stop. If visiting in winter, note that this stretch of road is occasionally closed during snowstorms.

There are two prominent hoodoos visible from the Agua Canyon Viewpoint. To the right is the hoodoo commonly called the “Rabbit” or the “Backpacker.” This one has a larger top and a narrower waist. To the left is the hoodoo known as the “Hunter.” This one has more of a wide tower shape. According to the park, many hoodoos have fallen or partially collapsed and no longer resemble the objects for which they were originally named.

In addition to the canyon views and hoodoos, 10,387′ Navajo Mountain can also be spotted on the distant horizon.
