You are here
Lock A Campground is located along the shores of the Cumberland River. This particular stretch of river is quite calm as it is located just upstream from Cheatham Lock and Dam, making it perfect for boating, swimming, canoeing and fishing. There is a boat ramp here (for campers only) providing easy access to the Cumberland. There is also ample space for recreating on dry land here. The Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail takes off from the campground, and the Cheatham Lake Wildlife Management Area is also nearby. Campground amenities include plenty of green space, a playground, basketball court, horseshoes and more.
The campsites at Lock A are quite nice. There are 45 sites in total, including 38 standard campsites and 7 tent only sites. All campsites feature electric and water hookups. The majority of campsites here are semi-private and shaded. Approximately half the sites are situated with a backdrop along the river, including all the tent sites.
Lock A Campground is open seasonally from April 1 to October 31. All sites are by reservation only.
