Despite the name, there is no bridge at Sheep Bridge Campground, and you probably will not encounter any sheep. However, what you will encounter are some of the most spacious campsites in this busy area of the Cascade Lakes Highway, as well as fantastic views of wetlands surrounding the far northern end of the Deschutes Arm of nearby Wickiup Reservoir. You'll likely dodge the massive crowds that can flood the other nearby campgrounds, such as South Twin Lake Campground, as well. While Sheep Bridge is not located on either of the Twin Lakes, it is still very close, being a short drive away from South Twin Lake as well as Gull Point Campground’s boat launch to greater Wickiup Reservoir, and only about a mile from North Twin Lake as the crow flies.

Amenities are somewhat limited at Sheep Bridge. While Sheep Bridge and the many nearby campgrounds do not offer any full hookups or dump stations (except Gull Point for the latter), there is no potable water at Sheep Bridge either. As a result, campers will have to bring plenty of their own water or go to a different nearby campground to get water suitable for drinking. There is a boat launch to the Deschutes Arm of the Wickiup Reservoir near the entrance to the campground, though it is small and unpaved. And for those who want to drive their boats faster than 10 miles per hour, it is well over a mile via the Deschutes Arm to the end of it where Wickiup Reservoir is much more widespread and such speeds are permitted.

I camped here with my folks for many years and we loved the isolation and were perfectly content with the water from the pump. I've also camped here with my spouse and kids and eventually we acquired an RV and continued to spend time there. We have many special memories beginning in the '50's.
I absolutely love the view of the river stretching through the lush green marsh at one end of the campground. I also love the peace and quiet and the spacious campsites as well as the fact that the campground is set so far back from the road as to deny any possibility of traffic noise. I also love the large german brown and kokanee that we have occasionally landed from the bank. What i do not love is the infernal dustiness and the lack of potable water.
