Located just north of downtown Bend, Pioneer Park sits along the eastern banks of the Deschutes River just upstream of the First Street Rapids. At only 5.5 acres in size, the manicured park is rather small, featuring extensive riverside lawn, picnic areas, a shelter, and a rose garden. Nestled in the middle of Bend, however, this pocket park offers extensive access to many of the city's natural open spaces via the impressive Deschutes River Trail (mixed paved and gravel path). Heading south along the trail you have access to Drake Park, Miller's Landing, McKay Park, the Old Mill District parks and the South Canyon Reach. Heading north you can easily access Davis Park (First Street Rapids) and Sawyer Park.

Note: Pioneer Park's picnic shelter has a capacity for up to 30 people and can be reserved by calling Bend Metro Parks and Recreation at 541.389.7275.
