Mud Lake Campground is a more intimate campground located across the road from Anthony Lakes Recreation Area.
For those who may want to separate themselves from the activity going on in the middle of the recreation area, Mud Lake offers a quieter, more relaxing alternative. With 7 sites (6 of which can be reserved beforehand, 1 that is first come, first serve) located either beneath pine and fir forest or at the edge of an open meadow, Mud Lake has some trade offs to the more popular Anthony Lake Campground [add hyperlink] located nearby. Mud Lake has a few sites with electrical hooks ups, however there is not water available in the campground - campers however can travel across the street to Anthony Lake for water. Mud Lake also misses out on the wider views of its neighboring campground.
Set within the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, the campground is on Forest Service land, however is operated by Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort.
Tent sites are priced at $14 per night, while sites with electrical hookups are $30 nightly - however only smaller RVs will fit on the gravel road into the campground.
One vault toilet serves the campground.
Mud Lake Campground is generally open from June to September, depending on seasonal snow conditions.
