This dispersed campsite along the Rogue River used to be known Hamaker Campground. The campground has since been abandoned but is still a fantastic area to spend the night with the added bonus of it being free! You’ll find the old campground after following a gravel road to this somewhat remote location. A small trailhead and the Upper Rogue River Trail are also found here.

Hamaker Campground features 10 campsites. Picnic tables and fire rings have been removed, but there are now fire pits made out of rocks. You’ll even notice the remains of Klamath Ovens at some of the campsites. There are no amenities whatsoever here, including no restrooms.

Pick a site that you like, and set up for the night! Enjoy the beautiful Rogue River that flows beside the campground, and the lack of crowds in this area. Be sure to follow LNT principles to keep this area clean for the next camper, and please observe the 14 day stay limit.
