The Green Springs Loop is one of the easiest hikes in the Rogue Valley, offering beautiful views of Mount Ashland. It's a short and scenic hike with almost no elevation gain. In the spring and early summer the trail is bordered with wildflowers and edible miner's lettuce. Offering great views and opportunities for wildlife viewing, this hike is shorter than many of the other hikes in the area. The viewpoint, located about 1.2 miles from the start, is often a great spot to see deer and birds of prey. It is also the only part of the hike where you will be able to see the last remaining old-growth trees in the area, some of which show scars from the wildfires that have affected the area. The south-facing section of the trail takes you through a prairie with an open view of the valley before heading back through the forest.

Ideal for all ages, you'll enjoy a diversity of scenery, flora, and fauna on this pleasant hike. And if you are lucky, the wild strawberries bordering the trail will be ripe.
